Planaria
Anyone ever done anything with these? Our teacher said we will later this year. They are little worms. fun to cut open. lol.

They are little, short worms. this big: ee. if that. if you cut them in half, they live on as 2 planaria. cut the head open, they still live on.

Take that little flatworms
They can't survive a hearty mincing however...

Not exactly
One can cut them into thirds and the three pieces will turn into new planaria--so two of the pieces have no head parts. I believe it is more that they need a large enough segment of every system, but it has been awhile since I have dealt with them.

Ohh~! I've never touched a Planaria! But it almost seems that each time you cut it, and wait awhile, the body will regenerate totally on both of the cut of parts of the body o-0! HOW AWESOME! O:

I saw Daphnia, Red-Blood Cells, and Amoeba, a Hydra (COOLEST MICROBE EVER!!!), a Planaria, some Vinegar Eels, and some other cool creatures under the microscope last year.
