I don't know, my bruises usually fade in a couple days anyway... I also bite my lips, I think one of lip ointment's major active ingrediants is the yuck flavor, makes one not want to bite it and so it is able to heal...

major bruisings usually last me about a week- 2 weeks, but i hurt my two and the bruise faded rather quikly
