Microbiology does not take too much math, I only had to take a year of calculous, which I hated. Stats (applied math) can be tricky, have to take more of that myself since I am way too rusty on it and the one course I had was rather general. Until calc I was great in math. Your "areas of study" really have nothing to do with micro...
