Has anyone tried their hand at making their own toys of microbes which aren't likely to be produced any time soon? Some friends and I have been talking about doing this (mainly with fictional microbes and such), and I'm curious whether anyone else has any experience with it.

I have plans for making one! I was about to make a tapeworm, but I wasn't able to get to the fabric store...:(

I made mini versions of several of the GiantMicrobes using poms and turned them into geeky fridge magnets :D. I think people have made their own, I remember seeing a picture someone posted where a grandma I think made a kid a GIANT GiantMicrobe, it was in the photo gallery section of the forum.

I started my own company. Well, my own Bedhian company. (MCS members, remember the article 'New Country' from the MCS Newsletter II?) It is called 'Microbes of Bedhia' and it has already produced a couple pollens. Coming Next? Croup, Waterbear, and Elm Disease. I may put up a picture sometime. Well, I might.:)

i have great news. i have a whole lot of customs made from felt that are just about finished. i just need to sew on the eyes and pick them up from a house that they are being made at. they are: smallpox, dengue, leprosey, 3 valley fever mini microbes, cholera, and my personal fav: corynebacterium jeikeium. i have a special bond with that guy. he almost killed me once:eek:!!!

i forgot to tell you that i have drawings of everything from rabbit fever to 2 new superbugs to the sickness that people in brazil call "sponge"(leishmaniasis). however as i only have one way to have them made it will probably be a while till they get done.

sorry for posting so many times in a row but i have great news!!!! my customs are finished!!!!! i am now the proud owner of smallpox, cholera, leprosy, corynebacterium jeakium, 3 vally fever mini microbes, 3 cryptococcus mini microbes, dengue "bonecrusher" fever, paramecium, and ameba in addition to toxoplasmosis, bad breath, flesh eating, athlete's foot, mange, and stomach ach. they turned out real cool:D. as soon as i figure out how to post pictures i will make a gallery. i alredy have the pictures. they are awsome!!!!:D:D
