I love these microbes! Stuff like this makes great lab gifts for science nerds like me.

My suggestion, a Vibrio Cholera microbe:

Being that Cholera is currently in its eighth pandemic, I think it has earned a fuzzy likeness :)

I would buy a handful for my wifes lab!

good idea! It would look cute as a GM... but in real life it can kill in a few days:eek:

Awesome suggestion! Very cool pic of it too :). Ah the organism that causes one to poop to death.

Whoa, that'd be slightly uncomfortable. Weren't the worst outbreaks during Oregon Trail times?

There have been really bad outbreaks during many time periods, today the worst tend to be in third world countries. Cholera is treated not with antibiotics but with drinks that contain electrolytes, the key is to prevent dehydration and let it pass through the patient, cheap and effective.

i like to drink stuff with electrolytes in it (mostly because it tastes better than other drinks)

Yeah, but I doubt you'll ever get Cholera... Especially when you don't live in a third world country. Doesn't that kind of stuff (electrolytes) make you crash, if you drink them often?
