I am writing a book called "So You Got Yourself a Microbe? The care and keeping of Giant Microbes" It may take awhile, but I promise I'll put it up on the forum when I am finished. Got any suggestions?

How to clean your Giant Microbe. Storage ideas, for those who want to keep their Microbes mint.

Very cute idea about the book :D. How about a myths section, "Myth 1: Giantmicrobes can get you sick. False, they are just toys (really cool toys)."

I prefer the term "Educational Fuzzy Merchandise" to toys

The fermentation lab at ISU has a Mr. Burns figurine and someone took a little centrifuge tube (tube with a hinge cap) and put it in his hands, it is very funny :D!

Mr. Burns holding a lab thing, very geeky, perhaps I'll get a pic of it if I have my camera handy next time I visit that lab.

OOOH, I want a shirt! We should e-mail the company!

kskerr
09-10-2006, 02:30 PM
They really should make them available, it is great advertisement and lots of people would want the shirt way more than the hat, heck I have the hat but since I generally don't wear hats I have only worn it out once or twice. Though I might start wearing hats more since I am growing out my bangs, or as the Brits call them fringes, bangs made hats annoying for me.

There's a song on this compilation CD I have and it's only 7 seconds long, and the song goes:

"Why can't people understand I've got a short attention span? Short attention span!"

And it's coming to mind right about now....

I second that, I have a Jewish friend here and she posted a funny (to an adult) article on myspace, it used several Hebrew terms, except it was polite and defined them all as it is considered rude to use a language unknown to your audience.

It stinks though because I have a tendency to have low iron in my blood, and spinach is a great way to boost your iron. When you don't have enough iron, you get sleepy and sluggish or at least I do.

My doc told me to take a multivitamin since mine was a bit on the low side my last blood test. Think red meat is also a good source. As this is an ongoing investigation I would go with what the FDA recommends and cut spinach entirely out of the diet until this blows over. But do a better job taking a multi if you go that route, I got them in February and have taken maybe 5...

mazuac
09-17-2006, 04:33 PM

kskerr
09-17-2006, 05:27 PM
No I don't, I should but I always forget to take them. Perhaps if I move the bottle into the office I'll remember, that is where I usually eat breakfast...

I'm terrible about taking my vitamins! I have to take flax oil (for my hair and skin and circulation), vitamin c (because I'm at a college where everyone coughs on doorknobs), b 100s (because they're supposed to keep your stress down), calcium magnesium (before bed to aid in sleep), and ginko (because I have millions of things to remember).

Wow, I would never be able to keep track of all that! My multi has vitamin C, should be more dilagent since undergrads carry disease... It also has lycopene so I won't have to worry about my prostate ;)!

I used to take a multi vitamin, but it bothered me. I take other pills that I have to take every day, so I'm more concerned with those than with my vitamins, consiering they're far more important.

Helps that we were talking about it, though I forgot this morning, going to bed at 5am and waking up at 9am is not too conducive to remembering such things... Don't be like me, do your homework ahead and not the night before!!!

Notice the wink next to it... I was testing to see which of any of you would pick up on that one. Reminds me of when my sisters were about your age I convinced at least one of them that they had a prostate, my dad had a heck of a time setting them straight, I was quite convincing, lol!
