Well, do you? I would never cut the tags off mine!

I don't even cut them off, I just pull them off.

I carefully removed some of my originals but put most back on and when I find a way will get the rest back on (lost the plastic things). I decided that I like it better with them on.

That is, I'm talking about the information cards. And I keep the cards on my shelf for visitors to read.
The cloth tags will stay on till they come off by themselves! (Contributes to "teddy" feel and tells arts/humanities friends what the heck these funny dolls represent

I figured that is what you meant, taking off the cloth tags would be mutilation .

I don't like taking the info tags off but while trying to cut off an extra tag the store had put on, I accidentally snipped off flesh eating disease info tag, but I've kept it close by.

I used some thread to reattach the ones I did not have plastic things for, I don't want to lose the info cards!!!

good idea! otherwise, guests pick them up, and they're like "what in the world..."

Since most of mine are attached to the wall my guests won't be picking them up, even if they weren't though most of my guests have heard me talk about them and so either have seen them or know what they are when they do for the first time. I think they look good with the tags still attached, only reason I had taken them off in the past was because I was concerned that my neice would get ahold of them and rip them off, didn't happen since I kept them all hidden away until I moved but didn't want to risk it!

The tags are also useful, because they have a picture of the actual microbe on them.

I just got polio and pimple the other day from my sister, my friend came over and was looking at them and pretended to pull the tag off. He should have thought a little harder on that move though, I was in my kitchen and I have two knife sets on the counter and two sets of steak knives in the drawer, good thing I knew he was kidding...

lol:D I can see the headline now... Local kills friend with steak knife. Experts say he pretended to pull the tags off her microbes. Experts also say: "She's crazy.":D :D :D

:D:D:D:D But would it work for getting one out of charges for murdering a potential microbe murderer...

With the right lawyer practically everything is possible in the US these days... I probably wouldn't actually kill him though, I like him too much, he is lucky! Beat to a pulp, definately!!!
