OK, whats your favorite Giantmicrobe? This question I am asking out of plain curiosity. Mine would have to be the Yeast because he was my first one I ever got, and he is so CUTE! so... yah:) whats yours?

My favorite microbe in the set so far is Biddulphia because the shape is so cute but also because diatoms are awesome. They have glass shells which is awesome and I work with ceramics which has glass components so I am quite fond of it. Their mitosis is also really interesting, and kind of stupid.
Noctiluca is close too because it uses light and gas manipulation, also--cute.
Then I can't forget about the cat flea--not quite a microbe but so awesome, Fleas rock.

i like Streptococcus pyogenes. Thus the avatar I've chosen. I actually have three. two of the sore throat and one of the flesh eating.

Whoa! You have 2 strep's and one flesh eating? why did you get two of the same microbe?

i didn't. they actually sent me somebody else's order at one point. i informed them of the error and they sent me my order and said i could keep the ones they had sent origonally.
and i just tried to spell the word said as sed. what am i 5???
oh yes and about your story idea. in my opinion you should have it based on either a war between the various groups on the website or by basic group (cocci, bacilli, spirochetes, viri,
protozoa, etc) i was thinking about making a microbe based rts myself.

I work in ceramics and i was thinking about making little microbial critters...I've always loved them. But I'd probably make critters like amoeba, stentor, and slime mold...not sure if I want to make them my usual of around five to seven inches tall or smaller...possibly little slides with droplets on it that have the microbes painted on the outside and microbes sculptures that go inside...similar to some little fish bowls I used to make. Wouldn't really do a story though...visuals are more my style, though one day I do want to make a graphic novel...

Story's are bigtime for me :D I am also writing a fiction one, well, will be! The microbe one is just for fun when I have spare time :XD

i relly like the protozoa. i know i cant relly talk about the others because i dont have them(im broke:() but i LOVE toxoplasmosis. it looks just like a furry, cat eye bannana:). its also so soft:). whats cool is you can hold him up to your ear and pretend you have a protazoan cell phone:D lol.

I have more than i thought i had. 41!

i have at least79 microbes :) and 6 non microbe-but-equally-weird subatomic particles :Dand i might be getting more of each as well as some plush guts :)and antique radioactive watch hand (pm me if you want to know the story behind the watch hand)

myco monster

oh your talking about i heart guts. those are cool but kinda expensive(i think stomach is so cute). what are the subatomic particles? oh and i know what you are talking about when you say you are getting a radioactive watch. back in the 50s or 60s(i cant remember wich one) they would paint glow in the dark watches with radioactive paint. if it gives off alpha particles you dont have to worry about anything as long as the glass is still intact. the bad news was they would put the paintbrushes in their mouths to get them to work better or somthing like that. real good way of getting colen cancer.

i wont be getting the watch hand anytime soon:(but i did order some coins made of silver, copper, aluminum and selenium, 2600 pure lead spheres,a peice of zinc, some chromium oxide (Cr2O3), some tin,and a peice of nickel.
this is the link for the particles: www.particlezoo.net

i have heard that some peopleswallowed the radioactive buttons inside of smoke detectors and have had no ill effects!! (but I wouldn't try it there may be a protective sheild of gold over the radioactive and toxic Am (americium) but alpha particles (helium atoms) still escape:eek::eek:)

myco monster

alpha particles arn't exactly helium atoms. they are more like psyched up helium nucleouses. and they are so weak a few feet of air will stop them. the bad news starts when you ingest or inhale them. then you have a real good chance of gettin real sick.
